We offer the following national, regional and international training programmes, the currently running training programmes are marked with the year that they are running:

Education and training are important prerequisites in order to achieve a long-term sustainable development. Ramboll Natura AB is since many years working in the field of capacity development within the sector of natural resources and environmental management. As consultants in these areas, and with our broad network of professionals, we have been assigned the task to organise a number of training programmes for partner countries in development co-operation.

International, regional and national training programmes

Our international training programmes turn to invited countries in more than one region; it can for example be Asia and Africa or it can be Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. This varies with the different programmes. International training programmes focus on general issues that can be of global interest. The language on these programmes is always English.

Our regional and national training programmes usually focus on more specific issues, of interest for the region or the country, or even focus on one specific case. Only countries in the region are invited to apply. These programmes are sometimes held in the language of the region.

Application process and funding

Applications should be written on a special application form or filled in online (to be developed) and sent to the Swedish Embassy/Consulate in the country of residence. Please note that we do not need any CV attached to the application form. If there is no Embassy/Consulate, the application can be submitted directly to the Programme Secretariat.

The selection process can in some cases take up to 2 months after the last date of application. Selected participants will be notified by e-mail or fax. Once accepted the participant must confirm participation and thereafter invitation letters and more information will be sent out. To each training programme around 25-30 participants are selected and we normally have more than 100 applications, so please undertsand that we cannot accept all candidates to the programmes.

Our programmes are funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), but the ways of funding differ between each programme. For more information regarding application, selection process and funding please see the brochures of the respective programmes.

Domestic travels to the closest international airport in your country, any departure fees and airport taxes as well as visa costs or costs occurred in relation to obtaining the visa are never funded for.

In programmes where the funding doesn't cover for the travels to the first scheduled training phase and you or your organisation cannot cover for it, please search for funding agencies in your own home countries. Ramboll Natura AB cannot support with any funding.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: I come from XXcountry, can I apply to this programme?

A: All programmes turn to different countries, please see the list of eligible countries, which can be found under each respective programme, to find out whether you can apply or not. Only people living and working for a longer time in that country are eligible for the training, your country of origin does not matter in this case.

Q: Can Ramboll Natura use the application form I sent in last year as an application for this year's training?

A: No, we need new application forms with new signatures to know that this is still valid, also, we don't save the old application forms.

Q: If selected, can my husband/wife accompany me to the training, he/she will of course pay any extra costs himself/herself?

A: No, family members are not allowed to accompany a participant to the trainings.

Q: Will I receive a certificate or diploma for the training?

A: Yes, at the very end of the programmes, on completion of the assignments you've started, a certificate of completion will be sent out by regular mail.

Q: How much will the training cost?

A: The trainings are funded by Sida, so there are no costs for lectures, field trips, literature, accommodation or food. If selected you will receive funding to cover for these costs, as well as the international flights to the second scheduled phase of the programme. In some programmes the international flights to the first scheduled phase are funded as well, please read more about this under each programme. Visa costs, travels/accommodation in relation to obtaining the visa, domestic travels in your country to your nearest international airport as well as any airport fees or local airport taxes are not included.

Q: How do I apply and to where do I send the application form?

Information about Sweden

Sweden is located in Northern Europe, so far North that the Arctic Circle crosses its northernmost province, but because of the mild winds blowing off the warm Gulf Stream drift Sweden is not an arctic country.

Sweden has four distinct seasons; winter, spring, summer and autumn. It is almost 1 600 kms from north to south, which results in a wide variation in natural features and climate. In Stockholm, where we are, the temperature can fall below freezing point in the winter  and in the summer rise above +25ºC.
