For the past 30 years, Sweden has been involved in development cooperation in Laos through the Sida programme (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency).The overall goal of the Swedish support has been to contribute to poverty alleviation and support the development of a democratic society and human rights with emphasis on capacity development. Ramboll has been involved in the cooperation between Laos and Sweden for 20 continuous years, and is still implementing one of Sida’s major programmes URDP, that will continue until early 2012.

The importance of water: Adapting to climate change

The global demand for water services is rising rapidly. The demand is driven by several factors, including worldwide population growth, urbanisation, industry and irrigation. In North Western Europe, this demand is furthered by climate changes in the form of heavy rain storms and more stringent EU legislation aimed at managing flood risks and improving water quality.
